KIDS IN ACTION of L.I., INC. is a warm, friendly, happy center with knowledgeable and caring professionals! Parents are an integral part of their child's therapy. Teamwork among the therapists is the theme. So many programs are offered in a multi-sensory environment. Our son benefited greatly from his time spent in KIA.
The physical and occupational therapy sessions with Valerie and Ami at KIA have impacted our son and our family in such a positive way. Before these therapy sessions our son was clumsy and poorly behaved with no self-confidence. It is clear to us now how improved his "sensory issues" are. He is much more aware of his body in all surroundings and is much happier, better behaved and a much more confident child than ever before.

With the early intervention of KIDS IN ACTION our three-month pre-mature child, now seven years old, actively participates in karate, baseball, swimming, soccer, and basketball. His first grade teacher during a parent teacher conference asked "Who practices handwriting/printing with your son? He has the best handwriting in the class."
Thank you Val & Tara

I have three sons, (2 ½, 5, 8) who have all benefited tremendously from the knowledgeable and caring occupational therapist at KIDS IN ACTION. They are well versed in traditional occupational therapy approaches as well as sensory integration therapy. The most noticeable change was in my first son Max. My husband and I knew something wasn't right but couldn't put our finger on it. Once we had him evaluated by KIDS IN ACTION and found out he had a sensory integration disorder everything Max did started to make more sense to us. His therapy sessions were helpful to the entire family. Max went from being a child who some believed to be a child with ADMD in need of medication and behavior management programs to a child who can keep himself together during an eight hour school day in a class of 30 children. Without KIDS IN ACTION this would not have been possible.
There is an old saying " You don't know what you have until it's gone." My son Kyle came to Kids In Action at the age of 3 1/2 for both Physical therapy and Occupational therapy. Then Kyle started kindergarten and the program for PT and OT was based in school. The difference in Kyle's walk within a few months was very noticeable.
I contacted Valerie for physical therapy and she made a place for Kyle once again. The school based programs are o.k., but it will never measure up to the care and therapy provided at Kids in Action. Even though you might not see too much of a difference in your child, believe me you will when you leave this wonderful program.
