Parent-Child Groups
Welcome to Kids In Action Parent-Child Groups!
Our groups are specifically designed to promote:
- Social skills and interactions of children 0-3 years old while learning and having fun
- Speech/language enhancement
- Fine and gross motors skills
We consider our program to be different than other parent-child groups because:
- They are lead by highly experienced and trained teachers with at least seven years of experience.
- Health care professionals ( occupational therapists, physical therapists and/or speech/language pathologists) periodically join the group in order to offer suggestions on motor, communication and adaptive skill development.
- Kids In Action actively includes all parents in their child's session.
- Kids In Action provides educational materials.
- Group leaders answer questions often asked by parents about their child's mental, physical, emotional and social development.
Some of the activities include:
- Good morning circle
- Following directions and establishing routines
- Group play in sensory-motor gym
- Songs and crafts
- Cooperative play
- Large muscle movement and motor planning
Currently, there are three programs held at Kids In Action's clinic on Saturday mornings. Groups typically include 6 - 8 children and their parents.
A weekday morning group is under development.
Feel free to contact us about our unique program.
