Speech-Language Therapy
Speech-language pathologists assess the speech, language, and cognitive-communication skills of individuals. A speech-language pathologist can determine what types of communication problems exist and the best way to treat these challenges. Typically the earlier a delay is detected the better the prognosis of the child's improvement.
Speech-Language Pathologists service areas may include:
- Articulation/Phonological
- Receptive and Expressive Language Skills
- Voice and Fluency
- Auditory Processing difficulties
- Apraxia
- Oral-motor
- Feeding
Speech-language therapy services are provided to infants, children, and adolescents for:
- Hearing Impairments
- Developmental delay
- Cleft lip or palate
- Weak oral muscles
- Feeding difficulties
- Mentally Challenged or Cognitively delayed
- Fluency disorders
- Head trauma
- Learning disabilities
- Receptive/Expressive language disorders
- Pervasive developmental disorders and autism
- Respiratory problems
- Developmental aphasia
- Resonance or Voice disorders
- Syndromes (I.e. Down's)
- Articulation/Speech difficulties

therapy evaluations and treatment services to infants and children 0-21

Authorized Early Intervention, Pre-School CPSE and CSE services for eligible children are provided at no out of pocket cost to families. All professional staff are qualified, specially trained personnel credentialed and submitted to New York State for background checks by Kids In Action and licensed or certified by the State of New York.
